“Yellow” has been a significant colour within my art practise since 2014, making appearances throughout in some way or another. Since 2014 “Yellow” has infiltrated my work in differing ways to add a ‘full-stop’. Using a yellow particular to myself has enabled the colour to become a recognised feature of my work and in-turn myself. “Yellow” grew out of an interest for the diverse affects it can have on individuals, you either love it or you hate it. But it has since evolved into an aesthetic material to aid an art-object.

When applied to an art-object the yellow is 2D; flat and full-bodied as a singular colour but when displayed it is transformed to the three-dimensional in its positioning in the gallery-setting. I have been able to use it to transform discarded materials, as in “Functional Objects” to make it appear uniform and ‘un-discarded’. It has also appeared in book-works as a uniform material to display the ways in which it has been used.
